One word : INCREDIBLE. Finally, AFFNO was able to present our Sugar Shack Festival in Prince Rupert, with the brunch held on March 12 at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre. The day prior, the mask mandate was reversed, and everyone had the chance to dance during Angela Roy and Barefoot Caravan’s performance, during the brunch. Due to restrictions with Northern Health, capacity remained at 50%, but even still more than 150 people participated in person, with almost another 20 taking advantage of the Take-out option. For the rest of the festival, AFFNO hosted the Kick-off Social Friday night at Cowpuccino’s, and Open Mic at the Wheelhouse Saturday evening. Thank you to our partners, especially le Patrimoine Canada, CPF Prince Rupert, Prince Rupert Arts Council, D.P. World, Drax, Empire Grain, the city of Prince Rupert, Vintage Island Properties, and our volunteers! MERCI!
